The military servicemen wounded for Georgia’s territorial integrity and in international missions successfully participated in the Air Force Trials in the USA. The MoD wounded warriors’ team gained 23 medals in various sport competitions, including eleven gold, eight silver and four bronze medals.

Deputy Chief of Defense Forces, Major General Joni Tatunashvili and Sergeant Major of Defense Forces, Sergeant Major Giorgi Gogochuri greeted the wounded warriors at Tbilisi International Airport and congratulated them on the successful participation in the Air Force Trials.

Wounded warriors 13-manned team underwent intensive training for the tournament. Air Force Trials was held at Air Force base in Las-Vegas, USA. The Georgian team took part in 6 kinds of sport – para basketball, sitting volleyball, shooting, running, rowing and archery.

Another Georgian wounded warriors team is also participating in Marine Corps tournament in San-Diego.  

Participation in international tournaments aims to rise combat spirit and motivation within the wounded warriors.
