Defense Minister of Georgia met with Turkish and Azeri counterparts within Azerbaijan-Turkey-Georgia trilateral Defense Minsiterial within the visit to the Republic of Turkey. Juansher Burchuladze, Defense Minister of turkey Hulusi Akar and Defense Minister of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov discussed regional development and existing cooperation issues in defense sphere. The sides emphasized the importance of joint military training and exercises that promotes to establish more friendly cooperation among the military of three countries and strengthens interoperability. The importance of trilateral cooperation format in defense sphere was highlighted that promotes security and stability in the region.

Defense Minister of Georgia is invited to Turkey in order to attend the Distinguished Visitors’ Day of multinational exercise Winter 2023. Turkey is hosting large-scale winter military training in Kars Province. 17 countries are participating in the international training, including Georgia, Azerbaijan, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, etc. The training aims to strengthen combat skills in winter conditions.
