Defense Minister of Georgia Juansher Burchuladze met with Minister of National Defense of Romania Angel Tilvar. The meeting was held in Bulgaria while participating in SEDM.
The sides talked about the importance of security challenges in the Black Sea region and improvement of partnership between the countries. Ministers agreed to further strengthen joint efforts for the security of the Black Sea region. Juansher Burchuladze outlined that strategic partnership between two countries is very vital.
Ministers also discussed bilateral cooperation issues between the Defense Ministries of Georgia and Romania. Georgia’s aspiration to European and Euro-Atlantic structures and Georgia’s implemented reforms and achievements in this regard were stressed on at the meeting. An important role of SNGP and Romania’s contribution in successful implementation of the initiatives under SNGP were underlined at the meeting as well. Cooperation in military education and military trainings was highlighted, as well.
Juansher Burchuladze thanked his Romanian counterpart for Romania’s support to Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as Euro-Atlantic integrations and its important contribution in EUMM. Ministers outlined that Romania will become NATO contact point embassy in 2023 for second time that promotes NATO-Georgia relations.
