The military servicemen of Special Operations Forces of Georgia, Turkey and Azerbaijan will undergo combined training. The opening ceremony of the tripartite field tactical exercise Caucasian Eagle 2022 was held in the Major Gela Chedia Special Purpose Training Center in Mukhrovani. Deputy Commander of the Georgian Defence Forces of Brigadier General Irakli Chichinadze and Commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Defence Forces Colonel Teimuraz Klateishvili addressed the participants and wished them success. Defence Attaché of Turkey Lt. Col. Burak Altiner, Defence Attaché of the Republic of Azerbaijan Col. Fuad Ibrahimov and GDF representatives attended the event.
The goal of the exercise is improving coordination and synchronization of SOF by the Special Operation units of the military forces Georgia, Azerbaijan and Turkey, sharing mutual experience, increasing interoperability and improving command and control skills in multinational environment. The special-purpose groups participating in the exercise Caucasian Eagle 2022 will share their experience in fire and medical training, fighting in a populated area and performing special operations.
The tripartite exercise Caucasian Eagle 2022 of the SOFs of Georgia, Azerbaijan and Turkey is held annually in all the three countries on the principle of rotation. Last year, Republic of Turkey hosted the exercise.
