Minister of Defence of Georgia held an introductory meeting with the EU ambassador to Georgia. Juansher Burchuladze wished Pawel Herczynski success on a position of EU Ambassador and stated hope that EU-Georgia cooperation will strengthen and become more fruitful. Juansher Burchuladze once again highlighted Georgia’s EU and Euro-Atlantic integration aspirations and expressed hope that Georgia will be granted the status of the EU candidate country. During the meeting the sided talked about the security situation in the region, existing threats and challenges. The topics of discussion included the current EU-Georgia cooperation, among them Georgia’s contribution to the EU Military Training Mission in the Central African Republic (EUTM RCA) an EU efforts for peaceful resolution of conflicts. Pawel Herczynski was appointed as the EU ambassador to Georgia in September. The Polish diplomat replaced Carl Hartzell on this position.
