Chief of Defense Forces Hosted U.S. Army Europe and Africa New Deputy Commanding General for Army National Guard

U.S. Army Europe and Africa New Deputy Commanding General for Army National Guard pays a working visit to Georgia. Chief of Defense Forces of Georgia hosted Major General Michael D. Wickman today. Major General Giorgi Matiashvili congratulated American General on appointment on a new position and expressed hope to continue close, productive and successful cooperation with US Army in Europe and Africa.

 Chief of Georgian Defense Forces thanked Major General Michael D. Wickman and the members of delegation for practical support and contribution in development and transformation of GDF. U.S. engagement and assistance in joint multinational trainings, special partnership between National Guards of Georgia and state of Georgia was highlighted at the meeting as well. The sides referred to the implemented and ongoing reforms in Georgian Defense Forces.

Within the visit to Georgia U.S. Army Europe and Africa Deputy Commanding General for Army National Guard will visit various structural units of GDF and get information on their working process.
