Lela Chikovani held a farewell meeting with Defence Attaché of Finland

First Deputy Minister of Defence of Georgia Lela Chikovani held a farewell meeting with Defence Attache of Finland to Georgia Colonel Juha P. Makela. Lela Chikovani thanked the Finnish diplomat for the successful bilateral cooperation and wished him success in his future professional activity. Regional security environment and Georgia`s continued support of Ukraine within different formats was also underlined.  

The First Deputy Minister of Defence stressed Georgia's unwavering Euro-Atlantic membership aspirations. At the meeting, a special focus was given to the "Georgia-tailored support measures document" developed within the framework of cooperation with NATO, which was adopted at the Madrid Summit. The Deputy Minister Lela Chikovani thanked the Finish side for the contribution provided in the development of NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Centre and for the active involvement of Finland in the EUMM. The sides talked about the further intensification of bilateral cooperation including in terms of total defense and reserve mobilization, as well as in the field of military education. 

At the end of the meeting, The Deputy Minister Lela Chikovani presented a certificate of appreciation to the Defence Attaché of Finland. Colonel Juha Makela will be replaced by Lieutenant Colonel Harry Weil Henrik Paldanius on the position of Defence Attaché of Finland to Georgia.
