Deputy Defence Minister Met with a newly appointed defence attaché of Ukraine to Georgia

The first Deputy Minister of Defence of Georgia Lela Chikovani met with a newly appointed defence attaché of Ukraine to Georgia Major General Serhii Kravchuk. She thanked the former defence attaché Major General Igor Ostapenko for his contribution to development of cooperation in defence sphere between Georgia and Ukraine. 

At the meeting the sides talked about the Black Sea security and noted that Georgia and Ukraine have similar foreign and security policy priorities and common threats, therefore, stressed the importance of close partnership under bilateral, as well as multilateral frameworks. Lela Chikovani gave positive evaluation to the work of Georgia-Ukraine high level Strategic Partnership Council especially in the direction of defence and security sphere. 

Joint participation of the Georgian and Ukrainian military personnel in multinational military exercises, as well as cooperation in military-technical sphere, were also discussed during the meeting. The sides underlined the support of the Georgian side with rehabilitation programs for the sounded Ukrainian soldiers.
