Joint training of Georgian and Romanian Special Operations Forces in the Black Sea

Naval Special Forces of Georgian and Romanian Special Operations Forces conducted a combined naval exercise in the Black Sea for the first time. The boarding team of the Coast Guard Department of the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was also involved in the training.

 

According to a simulated scenario, a foreign ship on which an illegal armed group was stationed, violated Georgian territorial waters. Georgian and Romanian SOF carried out a joint boarding operation with the Coast Guard team.

 

The purpose of the combined exercise was strengthening interoperability, partnering and friendly relationship between Georgian and Romanian SOF.
