The leaders of the Ministry of Defence of Georgia together with the representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited to Georgia discussed the activities implemented and planned within the framework of NATO-Georgia cooperation.
The Minister of Defence of Georgia Juansher Burchuladze addressed the ambassadors and defence attachés and spoke about the importance of international support for Georgia's NATO integration.
The Minister focused on the practical mechanisms of cooperation with the North Atlantic Alliance and underlined importance of the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package (SNGP).
The aim of the meeting between the MoD representatives and Diplomatic Corps was highlighting the SNGP initiatives and upated package. After Minister, First Deputy Minister Lela Chikovani addressed the audience and focused on the Georgia`s NATO membership which is important for the sustainable development of the country.
The head of the NATO Core Team, Colonel Norbert Hess, spoke about the challenges of the updated SNGP and the needed resources. The Deputy Commander of the Defence Forces, Brigadier General Irakli Chichinadze briefed the diplomats on the importance of the military exercises in Georgia. The J-4 representative of General Staff of Defence Forces COL Ivane Buchukuri delivered the presentation as well. Commander of the Defence Forces, Major General Giorgi Matiashvili and other officials of the Ministry attended the meeting as well.
