Minister of Defence of Georgia Juansher Burchuladze continues official meetings in the framework of his visits to the Baltic States. Members of the delegation of the Georgian Defence Ministry were hosted by the Speaker of Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen. The sides highlighted the friendly, strong and close relations between Georgia and Lithuania and expressed hope that successful cooperation will continue in the future.
Lithuania’s outstanding political support towards Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, European and Euro-Atlantic integration aspirations and Lithuania’s contribution to the development of Georgia’s defence capabilities were also stressed at the meeting. The sides talked about the global security challenges, threats coming from Russia and existing situation on the occupied territories of Georgia.
Various directions of cooperation in defence sphere including military education, cyber security and Strategic Communications were also discussed during the meeting.
