Inter-agency Mountain Training Basic Summer Course finished in Sachkhere Mountain Training School of Ministry of Defence. Special Operations Forces of the Georgian Defence Forces and the personnel of the School along with the employees of the Strategic Pipeline Protection Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs participated in the course.
The BMTSC lasted for three weeks at the training grounds in Sachkhere and Chiatura and was led by Sachkhere Mountain Training School instructors.
During the training, the personnel of Defence Forces and the Strategic Pipeline Protection Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs practiced in the selection of mining equipment, the rules of their application and technical specifications as well as underwent military-mountaineering and mountainous- technical training, practiced in the movement across the mountainous terrain observing the safety rules, organized the collective survival and evacuation of the wounded.
Head of the Mountain Training School, Vice-Colonel Malkhaz Goletiani and Director of the Strategic Pipelines Protection Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Police Colonel Zurab Chabashvili congratulated the participants on the successful completion of the mining and technical training. The graduates were granted certificates, badges and a recommendation to participate in the IMTSC.
The Ministries of Defence and the Ministry of Internal Affairs have been conducting mountainous courses on a regular basis since 2018 within the framework of inter-agency cooperation.
