Georgian peacekeepers left for Afghanistan

The Reinforced Company of I Infantry Brigade of the Georgian Defence Forces left for the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to carry out a peacekeeping mission there. The unit will take part in a NATO-led peacekeeping mission (RSM). The Georgian military, under the command of Major Anton Kutateladze, will perform the base security and force protection tasks in the city of Kabul. I Infantry Brigade unit will replace the Reinforced Battalion of the II Infantry Brigade.

Before leaving for the mission, the military servicemen of the Company underwent pre-deployment training in Georgia to fulfill the tasks assigned to them.
