British Embassy assists Georgian Defence Forces in fight against COVID19

Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland donated 100 000 GEL to the Georgian Defence Forces for the preventive measures against the spread of the novel coronavirus.

UK Defence Attaché to Georgia, Lieutenant Colonel Anthony Brumwell personally handed over the personal protective equipment and medical goods purchased by the allocated sum to the medical facility of the IV Mechanized Brigade. He underlined the importance of British-Georgian cooperation and draw attention to the important role of the Georgian Defence Forces in preventive measures against COVID19. Head of the International Relations and Euro-Atlantic Integration Department Shalva Kvinikhidze and Head of the Medical Department of the Georgian Defence Forces, Colonel Avtandil Abashidze attended the event. Representatives of the Georgian Defence Ministry thanked the British side for their support. Defence Ministry procured medical protection gloves, disposable face masks, thermometers and various medical purpose products with the sum donated by the British Embassy.
