School pupils viewed Senaki Military Base

Zaza Peradze Public School X-XI-XII grade pupils of village Shorapani of Zestaponi Municipality visited the military base of II Infantry Brigade in Senaki. The students spent one day at the unit and viewed the military equipment, sports complex and newly renovated barracks, as well as honoured the memory of the fallen heroes at the base memorial.

During the information visit, Corporal Lasha Gochelashvili of II Infantry Brigade introduced to the guests the history of the military unit and daily routine of a soldier. He delivered the presentation to the pupils on the topic “NATO-Georgia Relationship and the Georgian Troops` Contribution to International Missions”, which also highlighted significance of Georgian Defence Forces` involvement in the EU-led missions.  

The meeting went on in an interactive format. Towards the end, Chief of II Infantry Brigade Staff LTC Zaza Mjavanadze handed over a board to the school teacher as a symbolic present.   

The representatives of  the public school, non-governmental organization “Peaceful Georgia” and Zestafoni City Council attended the information.  

The pupils and students visit different military units on a regular basis to raise awareness about the Georgian army among the young generation.
