Minister of Defence of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili hosted the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Georgia H.E. Petr Mikyska. At the meeting sides discussed bilateral relations and future plans of cooperation. Minister of Defence of Georgia thanked the Czech diplomat for the efforts to support Georgia in building defence capabilities and in advancing on the path of European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
Irakli Garibashvili and H.E. Petr Mikyska talked about NATO-Georgia relations. Georgian Defence Minister declared that NATO membership is the top foreign and security policy direction for the Georgian Government. According to Irakli Garibashvili, Georgian Defence Ministry continues effective practical cooperation by fully using all necessary tools that support defence transformation, increase interoperability and prepare Georgia for membership in the Alliance.
Defence Minister also underlined that over the past two decades Georgia and the Czech Republic have developed a deep, durable and mutually beneficial bilateral defence relationship and expressed readiness to strengthen bilateral cooperation further.
