Christmas Day celebrated at the Bagram Airfield

The military servicemen of the 12th Light Infantry Battalion of I Infantry Brigade of the Georgian Defence Forces celebrated a glorious Christmas Day at the Georgian St. George Church in Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan.


Father Giorgi Tsereteli, the Chaplain of the Battalion held the Christmas liturgy and blessed the soldiers. Georgian military servicemen and the military and civilians of different nationalities attended the service. Georgian peacekeepers also held a party on the occasion of Christmas. The 12th Battalion Commander held a presentation on the history, culture and Defence Forces of Georgia for the invited guests. Later, the guests tasted traditional Georgian dishes prepared by the Georgian military. The 12th Light Infantry Battalion fulfills the peacekeeping mission under the Resolute Support Mission at the Bagram Airfield. The main task of the unit is to ensure the security of the base.
