Infrastructural Works Launch on Military Bases in West Command

On the second day of visiting the military bases, Defense Minister got acquinted to the ongoing infrastructural works on the II Infantry Brigade in Senaki. Defense Minister’s one of the priorities is to modernize army infrastructure and supply it with modern equipment.  

Under the Ministeŕs decision, constraction or rehabilitation of barracks, canteens, storage and supportive facilities, multifunctional stadiums and gyms will be accomplished by the end of 2020. Besides this, bathrooms are being renovated, fencing and outdoor lighting are being restored, and engineering communications and internal roads are being refurbished.

Later on, Defense Minister moved to the Adjara region and got acquainted to the accomplished or ongoing rehabilitation and construction works in Kobuleti military bases. Construction of another barrack, playground, watch building, checkpoint and car park is planned in the nearest future. In comparison of 2019, 4 times more – 100 mln GEL is allocated for infrastructural projects that modernizes infrastructure of Georgian army and makes it interoperable to the standards of NATO member countries. All above mentioned improves living conditions of Georgian soldiers.
