The Georgian military contingent arrived in Afghanistan

The 12th Battalion of I Infantry Brigade and the Reinforced Company of II Infantry Brigade have already arrived in Afghanistan.

The 43rd Battalion Command and Senior Military Representative of Georgian Defence Forces to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan COL Zakaria Kalandadze greeted the military at the Bagram Military Airfield.

The 12th Battalion of I Infantry Brigade commanding by LTC Giorgi Jincharadze will fulfill NATO-led Resolute Support Mission for 7 months at the Bagram Airfield under the Command of the U.S. military forces. The peacekeeping unit will replace the 43rd Battalion of IV Mechanized Brigade as part of the rotation. The main task of the Georgian peacekeepers will be protecting security of the military base.

The Reinforced Company of II Infantry Brigade with the command of Major Beka Kelenjeridze will be in charge of providing  RSM  headquarters` security and protection of military forces.
