Multinational Exercise Agile Spirit 2019 which was hosted by Georgia for the ninth time came to an end. In parallel of Orpolo range, the demonstrative training was held on Vaziani 11th drill ground. East Commander of Defense Forces of Georgia, Brigadier General Alexander Kiknadze attended the final training.
During the demonstrative exercise the 2CR of U.S. Army Europe supported by “Charlie” company of 13th Battalion of I Infantry Brigade of Georgian Defense Forces carried out defensive operation with live fire. The demonstrative exercise was continued with joint training of Georgian, Polish and Bulgarian Special Operation Forces nearby area of Vaziani Airport.
The official closing ceremony of Vaziani component within Agile Spirit 2019 was held in IV Mechanized Brigade. East Commander of Defense Forces of Georgia, Brigadier General Alexander Kiknadze addressed the multination units and wished them success. The closing ceremony was accomplished by awarding the military servicemen participating in the international military drills.
This year Agile Spirit 2019 was held in parallel on three locations – Senaki, Orpolo and Vaiziani ranges. The exercise was co-led by West Command of Defense Forces of Georgia and U.S. Army Europe. More than 3000 military servicemen of NATO member and partner countries participated in Agile Spirit 2019. The following 14 countries are engaged in the exercise: Georgia, USA, UK, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Norway, Belgium, Bulgaria, Greece, Montenegro, Romania, Turkey and Ukraine.
