The Ministry of Defence of Georgia Has Started Registration for Active Reserve

The Ministry of Defence of Georgia Has Started Registration for Active Reserve. Citizens aged 18-50 in from Tbilisi, Mtskheta and Imereti region have the opportunity to enroll in the reserve program so that they can keep their jobs and receive additional salary in parallel.

At this time, citizens of the age group of 18-50 from Tbilisi, Mtskheta and Imereti region can apply for the active reserve. Students from 18 to 22 who live in these regions can also participate in the program and after the completion of one contract term they will be free from compulsory military service.

In case of enrollment in the territorial reserve program, reservist can keep its job and the period of service will be included in the overall service term. Citizens will sign 5-year contract and their annual salary will be 2700 GEL. Combat training is for 45 days a year, which is distributed over 12 months.

Representatives of the National Guard met with the students of the Georgian Technical University regarding the launch of the registration and provided them with detailed information about active reserve program.
