Minister of Defence of Georgia Levan Izoria attended the graduation ceremony of the Davit Agmashenebeli National Defence Academy Command and Staff College Command and Staff Course and Defence Analysis Master’s Program.
Levan Izoria congratulated the graduates on successful graduation of the course and wished them success and professional development. In his speech Defence Minister underlined the importance of education in military sphere and high-level professional education. According to Levan Izoria, raising awareness of military personnel, improvement of educational standards and creation of high-professional command is a foundation for development of the state and enhanced defence capabilities. Chief of Defence Forces of Georgia, Lieutenant General Vladimer Chachibaia also addressed the course graduates who were later awarded with diplomas.
Command and Staff Program was established in 2009 with the assistance of the group of U.S. Advisers. At the beginning, considering the requirements of the Georgian Defence Forces, the pilot program was prepared that was launched in 2011. Nowadays, the Command and Staff College is the highest level of professional education in the Georgian Defence Forces and supports development of professional and analytical skills in military art and science, as well as in defence and security issues.
57 officers successfully graduated the VIII Command and Staff Program, 1 officer from the State Security Service and 4 civilians from the Defence Ministry system, also 8 officers graduated the Defence Analysis Masters’ Program.
