Levan Izoria: “Occupied Territories in 21st Century is Violation of International Law”

Within the project “Media in the Army”, Defense Minister of Georgia Levan Izoria answered the questions related to existing circumstances in the occupied regions and threats from Russia.

Defense Minister stated, existing of occupied territories in the 21st century is violation of international law. As Levan Izoria outlined, Georgia’s policy towards the occupied territories is peaceful: “We continue this policy by all means. Strengthening of our defence capabilities and especially, within total defence, strengthening of our international cooperation and NATO integration is the part of our policy that is a real basis of effective resilience policy against the treats from Russia”. 

Defense Minister emphasized the upcoming high-level visits during the year and unprecedented dynamic of international relations. “In a month Georgia will host NATO-Georgia exercise within which important officials will visit our country. NATO Secretary General and Military Committee will visit Georgia. As well as, during my visit to Brussels NATO Deputy Secretary General announced those NATO ambassadors also plan to visit Georgia in autumn”, stated Levan Izoria.
