Georgian MoD delegation led by Minister Levan Izoria left for Brussels. On February 13 and 14 NATO HQ in Brussles host NATO Defense Ministerial. Within the Ministerial Georgian Defense Minister will meet with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and his Deputy Rose Gottemoeller. The main topics of the discussion will be NATO-Georgia cooperation, Georgia’s role in strengthening stability in the Black Sea region, defence transformation and upcoming NATO-Geo Exercise 2019 in March within which NATO Secretary General plans to visit Georgia.
Within the visit Georgian Defense Minister plans to hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Lithuania, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey during which the colleagues discuss prospects to deepen bilateral cooperation in defense sphere. Bilateral meeting is also planned to be held with US permanent representative to NATO, Ambassador Kay Bailey.
Following the Kingdom of Belgium, Georgian Defense Minister will move to Germany to attend Munich Security Conference and hold bilateral meetings with foreign colleagues.
