The Director of the Center of Excellence on Strategic Communications Janis Sarts paid a visit to the First Deputy Minister of Defence of Georgia Lela Chikovani. They discussed existing bilateral cooperation mechanisms within the memorandum of understanding between MOD Georgia and NATO Strategic Communications Center of Excellence (COE) that aim at increasing Georgia’s capacity to conduct Strategic Communications, information environment analysis and counter disinformation.
The meeting was conducted in frames of the “Strategic Communications Course” conducted at Defence Institution Building School on November 21-29, 2018. The Course is jointly developed by the Center of Excellence on Strategic Communications and DIBS with active engagement of the Georgian experts and was focused on teaching the parties underlined importance of “whole of government” policy, the cross-government approach and an active engagement of civil society as an essential part of “total defense” principle.
In the end, both sides stressed on importance of the future cooperation prospects and further joint endeavors.
