The rapid response company of the IV Mechanized Brigade of the Georgian Armed Forces, deployed in the German military base "Marmal" in Afghanistan conducted a scheduled motorized patrol. The Georgian peacekeepers patrolled the villages in the town of Mazar-i-Sharif in the Balkh province.
The first platoon participated in the motorized patrol that lasted for six hours and was aimed at controlling the area of operations.
The IV Mechanized Brigade rapid response company is conducting a "strong support" mission under the German Command on "Marmal" base. The main task of the Georgian unit is implementation of the rapid response tasks and control of the patrol area for the safety of the military base.
