Chief of General Staff Visited II World War Veteran

The Chief of General Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces, Major-General Vakhtang Kapanadze visited the II World War veteran, Retired Colonel Irakli Kandareli to wish him a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Major-General Vakhtang Kapanadze awarded him with a special present and made a recording in the memory book. Retired Colonel Irakli Kandareli also granted books to Major-General Kapanadze.

Irakli Kandareli fought in the 193rd division of Kharkov during the II World War. For his meritorious service and contribution to development of the II World War veterans’ movement he was awarded with the Order of Honor in 2008. He is an honorary citizen of 8 Czech cities and honored worker of culture. Irakli Kandareli received a letter of appreciation from the President of the Czech Republic, Miloš Zeman for his contribution to the Republic of Czech.
