Minister of Defence visited Bundeswher Operational Command

Minister of Defence of Georgia visited Operations Command of German Armed Forces after the meeting in Bundestag. Operations Command Chief of Staff Brigade General Peter Stütz hosted the MoD delegation. Deputy Minister of Defence Besik Loladze, Advisor to Minister of Defence Shota Gvineria and Georgia`s Ambassador to Germany Lado Chanturia attended the meeting. The contribution provided by Georgia in international operations was highlighted during the meeting. A special attention was dedicated to the Georgian troops` participation in Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan under the command of German contingent. The sides refereed to the future cooperation plans too.

“The meeting held in the Operations Command was very interesting. We have met with the German Armed Forces` leadership, busy with planning the mission in Afghanistan. One of their main functions is to provide coordination of Afghan mission as well as other international missions conducted by Germany. We had very interesting discussions. It is important to take their experience into consideration in the both areas of planning and operations including in social affairs management and in communication with military and their family members”, remarked Tinatin Khidasheli. As Minister outlined, the German side intends to realize several ideas in the Georgian Armed Forces as well and after returning to Tbilisi she will discuss this topic with the GS leadership.
