Deputy Defence Minister of Georgia Ana Dolidze strated her visit to the Kingdom of Belgium with meeting with Director of Crisis Management and Planning Directorate (CMDP) of the European External Action Service, Gabor Iklody. The sides discussed Georgia’s participation in EU-led military missions. Gabor Iklody expressed gratitude for Georgia’s contribution in the global stability and security.
European Security Strategy was one of the issues of discussion. EU is working on the document right now, which will be published in June, 2016. As Ana Dolidze stated, Georgia is ready to take part in the elaboration process of the document. The sides outlined that security of the neighbor countries will be emphasized in the document as well.
Ana Dolidze also visited Austrian Permanent Representation to EU. “Elaboration of bilateral cooperation between two countries is very important for Georgia. Georgian MoD cooperates with the Defence Ministry of Austria in cyber security sphere very well. Thus, cooperation in other spheres is also very important”, stated Ana Dolidze at the meeting with the Austrian diplomats.
While visiting the Kingdom of Belgium Deputy Defence Minister of Georgia also met with Head of European Security and Defence College (ESDC), Dirk Dubois. The sides discussed potential cooperation issues between National Defence Academy of Georgia and ESDC and its networking colleges. The sides also outlined that Georgia will host two high level conferences supported by ESDC and the Austrian government.
Ana Dolidze will hold meeting at NATO HQ on the second day of the working visit to the Kingdom of Belgium.
