In the World Championship, which was held in alpinism in the Switzerland town, Dübendorf, Sachkhere Mountain Training School team from Georgia competed successfully and deserved the third place. The first and second places were occupied by the teams from Belgium.
It was for the first time, when the Sachkhere School sport team, composed of six men, participated in the world-level championship. After the end of the contest, the Georgian winners were awarded with bronze medals.
The Georgian alpinists competed with opponents from different countries in both individual and team styles The mountain climbers had to overcome the various kinds of difficulties and hardships across the artificial wall.
The championship involved as well the sportsmen from twelve countries` mountainous sub-units, including teams from France, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Great Britain, Rumania, Bulgaria, Germany and Denmark.
