Georgian military men participating in vintage
2 May 2015

Georgian servicemen began participating in the crop harvesting process, taking place in the Kakheti region. 10th Cadre Brigade of National Guard Department, dislocated in Telavi, has got engaged in the vintage since morning. All day long, the  military personnel were picking grapes together with Telavi, Khvareli and Gurjaani population.

Ministry of Defence, upon its initiative, offered assistance to those families, who could not afford to hire the labor force required. National Guard Department and the province representatives made the list of such families.

Along with the military, Zurab Arsoshvili, Head of National Guard Department personally took part in the vintage. According to him, military servants, representing Ministry, will be providing assistance for the local residents until the end of the vintage. “You know that season of vintage has already begun in Kakheti. Georgian National Guard Units are being actually involved in the grapes gathering process. Furthermore, we prepared the list of materially deprived families, who especially need our help. Now, we are in Akhaltsikhe village. Our units moved out to various directions to get engaged in the vintage process.

I should mention that our willingness to stand by the local population will get a frequent character and continue till the end of the vineyard. The local residents have already started appealing for help and our soldiers stand ready to meet their requirements.

At the first stage, up to 50 families appealed to Ministry and this number may increase in future”, reported Chief of National Guard Department.
